These are too cute not to share with your favorite canine this Valentine’s Day! I plan to handout to my coworkers, mailman, neighbors and friends for the holiday.

I started with a box of classic Milk Bones dog biscuits in size small that I picked up at the grocery story. Everything else, I found on amazon.com.

I whipped up a small batch of Wilton’s recipe for royal icing using 1-1/2 Tablespoons Wilton Meringue Powder, 2 cups confectioners sugar and 2 Tablespoons water. I divided it among several small glass bowls. I used a set of Wilton gel food coloring in red and pink to color the icing. I made two shades of pink by simply using a bit more of the gel in one of the bowls. This stuff is super strong and stains! You can use a toothpick to get a few dots out and added to your icing base continuing until you get the color you desire. To add additional decoration, a few candy sprinkles ensure these are a true treat!

This is NOT a sponsored post. However I do receive a small commission from Amazon if you purchase any of the items linked in this post. There is no extra cost to you. To learn more, please read here.

Then I just swirl half of the biscuit in the icing and shake off the extra. Lay them out on a wax paper covered cookie sheet to dry. You can pop in the fridge for a few minutes to help it along. I dip two to three times depending on the icing consistency and color I’m after.

I had fun and marbled some of the colors together, or you could color block them too.

To assemble, you just need to print the cards and cut to size. Download the printable PDF here.

I print on card stock, so they are sturdy. A dot or two of royal icing on the card, acts as glue to adhere the decorated biscuit to the card stock. Allow to dry and then slip the card with attached biscuits into the cello wrapper. These cello wrapper’s have an adhesive closure on the back, so they lay flat.

Please keep in mind that too much sugar isn’t healthy for dogs. But a small amount such as this isn’t harmful to dogs with normal tummies!
